Registration

  • We accept all major credit cards through our secure online payment processor.

  • Yes! The Early Bird Workshop Attendee ticket is available for $200 through April 29th. The price for a Workshop Attendee ticket will go up to $250 starting April 30th. There are no early registration discounts for guest tickets.

  • Yes! You can purchase tickets for your family to join you for the planned evening activities including the Awards Banquet on Thursday evening.

  • Attendee Registration Includes*:

    • All workshop sessions Monday - Thursday

    • All workshop presentations for your future use

    • Luncheons Monday - Thursday

    • Banquet dinner Thursday evening

    Guest Registration Includes*:

    • Banquet dinner Thursday evening

    *Final schedule is pending and will be provided at check-in.

Transportation

  • The Des Moines International Airport is the closest airport to the Marriott - www.flydsm.com

  • Yes! The Marriott has a free shuttle service that runs from 7:00am through 9:00pm. You can arrange this by calling (515) 267-1500. The hotel requires at least three (3) days advanced notice.

     Iowa troopers hosting USEOW will also be available to pick you up at the airport. Arrange transportation by contacting Trooper Paul Gardner at gardner@dps.state.ia.us .

  • A rental car is not necessary. Ground transportation to and from the airport is included with your registration. Any workshop sponsored events that are offsite will include transportation.

  • Unfortunately, we will NOT be able to provide car seats for ground transportation. If your child needs a car seat or booster, you need to bring it with you.

Hotel

  • No. Self-parking is free.

  • A breakfast buffet will be available in the hotel restaurant. Attendees can receive discounted pricing by showing their conference name badge.

Workshop

  • USEOW is unlike any conference you’ve been to in the past.

    We encourage each state to not only bring but present their best public and traffic safety programs. These programs will be evaluated by your peers and awards will be given during the banquet at the end of the workshop.

  • Yes! Uniforms will be worn during opening ceremony, while you or someone from your state is presenting and at the banquet.

    The dress code for the rest of the workshop is business casual.

  • Hats are preferred, but are not required.

  • Unfortunately, no. Due to the nature of some of the topics presented, family should not be in the conference room while we’re working.

    However, you may invite your family to see your presentation or recruit them to be used during your presentation.

Presentations

    *Adaptability means that someone else can make minor changes to your program to bring them back to their state to use as their own.

  • Yes! You will be provided with a copy of each program that is presented during the workshop.

  • During even years, presentations are given by state in alphabetical order.

    During odd years, presentations are given by state in reverse alphabetical order.

Family Activities

  • During the day, they can relax and enjoy what the host state has to offer. In the evenings, you can spend time together.

    If the host state has specific activities planned, you will receive more information at registration.

  • Unfortunately, no. Due to the nature of some of the topics presented, family should not be in the conference room while we’re working.

    However, you may invite your family to see your presentation or recruit them to be used during your presentation.

  • Yes! The registration fee for adult and child guests includes the awards banquet.

Awards Banquet

  • Uniforms are required for all attendees. Family members can dress in business casual or as formal as they would like.

  • The banquet includes dinner, recognition of all award winners from throughout the week and a closing ceremony prepared by the host state.
